Thanks to the fine people in the Era OT, I got over my fear of battles and started playing them manually as well. With a totally new approach in mind, I started playing and got hooked immediately. Then I was reading about WH2 and how it could be approached almost like a 4x or even better a HOMM type game (my favorite genre) by playing the strategic level and always autoresolving battles.
I was too UNTIL I started playing WH2! All my TW games were just blob on blob.
